Baptism gift for babies
What is the appropriate baptism
gift? This tradition is a rite of passage that welcomes a new one into the body of Christ. How is it possible to even begin to describe how happy it is to see an infant brought to the hands of God? As found in the last words of St. Matthew's Gospel, "Go out to all the world and instruct them in all that I have taught you. Baptize them, in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Behold, I am with you always!" What a wonderful passage! What even compares to the beauty of this event?
Of course, nothing worldly compares with this, but we do think that a baptism cross is a good way to show both parent and child that you understand their commitment to God's way. Crosses symbolize the death and rebirth of Jesus, just as the newly baptized infant is reborn in the church.
Baptism cross - for adults, too
Not all religions baptize their initiates when they are babies. Some believe that this sacred ceremony should happen later in life. If you know an adult who is about to be baptized, consider getting them a baptism
cross as a gift that will remind them daily about their new commitment to the word of God. As in the book of Matthew 16:24, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
The wall cross is a visual reminder to take the cross wherever they go, everyday.
